Mr. Brookes previously worked as an analyst for Auxier Asset Management near Portland, Oregon. While working as an analyst, he had his Series 63, Series 65, and Series 7 licenses.

Mr. Brookes was born and raised in Corvallis and graduated from Crescent Valley High School. He returned to Corvallis after graduating from law school.
While in school, Mr. Brookes worked in the Water Law and Natural Resources Clinic and specialized in farming and water law as a summer associate at a law firm in Bakersfield, California.
